Record Store Stories: The Shops Keeping Music Culture Alive

Inside the culture, community, and characters keeping vinyl alive around the world

Every record store has a story.

Some survived changing formats and streaming. Some became gathering places for local music communities. Others built reputations on rare finds, deep knowledge, and the relationships formed across the counter.

Record Store Stories is Vinyl Vibes' ongoing project documenting the people, shops, and communities that continue to shape vinyl culture around the world.

From independent stores in Canada to legendary shops abroad, these stories explore why record stores still matter and what they mean to the people who walk through their doors.
